A real certificate's page is the record: it is kept by AI PhD and says Valid while the certificate stands. This sample's Open Badges record names a SAMPLE badge and a recipient at example.com, so no one can claim it.

What it takes

The AI PhD Certificate in Applied AI is earned, not bought. Four things stand between you and it:

  1. Pass every Semester One class.
  2. Build your thesis in your own AI: propose an agent for one real weekly errand, then run it once on that errand and show the run. Both parts pass their checks.
  3. Defend it: answer an AI examiner's questions about your own thesis.
  4. A person at AI PhD reviews your thesis and your defense.

The defense

An AI examiner reads the learner's thesis proposal and the run of their agent, then writes 3 questions that press on how the agent checks its own work, what happens when a tool misfires, and what actually happened in the run (what its self-check found, where it was unsure, what it got wrong). When it cannot write its own, it asks the standard defense questions:

  1. Walk through one week where your agent gets the errand wrong. What does its check catch, and what slips past it?
  2. Which of your agent's tools could do the most damage if it misfired, and what stops that from happening?
  3. In your demo, what will someone see that proves the errand was done, rather than only attempted?

Every answer needs at least 25 words, and the examiner asks one thing of it: does it address that question directly, with specifics about the learner's own agent that agree with what the run shows, rather than general statements?

Then a person at AI PhD reads the thesis and the answers, and approves the defense, which issues the certificate, or sends it back with a note on what to fix.

What a real record says

Each certificate has its own public page that says Valid, so anyone can check it, and a link that adds it to your LinkedIn profile. A real one's page is ai-phd.com/verify/ followed by its credential ID. A refund cancels the certificate, and its public record then says Revoked.
